The guys at Supervettes made something really amazing – took the old C6 and gave it a facelift with a stunning aerodynamic body kit. Available for any C6 Corvette, the kit features a carbon fiber body, several details borrowed from the C7 and four round taillights. Check out the press release:
The Ultimate Supervette… “SV8.R”
“We started designing the Concept which we have since named the “SV8.R” back in 2009. Our vision and goal was to create an entirely new body for the C6 Corvette that would capture the Supercar essence that the Corvette lacked, at least visually in the past few generations. There’s no argument that its drive train is one if the best on the market, and THE very best bang for your buck available today.. but it still lacked something. So we went to the drawing board. We wanted to create what we thought GM should have designed, but can’t due to a small box their design team must stay inside to meet profit margins and sales goals.
We decided to completely replace the entire exterior with a new 100% Carbon Fiber Supervette body. A super contemporary design, capturing some design cues from past generations like the C2 and C3… and of course the traditional round round lights. Ironically, keeping the round tail lights, but executing this idea in a very modern way, was our #1 focus when we first started sketching… and its been without a doubt the most controversial part of the new C7 design. Tips for car owners before deciding on an insurance coverage
Collectors have always taken steps to secure and protect their classic cars, and one of the best ways to do so is through auto insurance. Many are hesitant to get one, however, because of the rising prices of premiums; an increase of $150 was experienced in the US this year. In Europe, insurance prices are projected to rise as well—Ireland, in particular, will increase its rates by 10% according to ’s recent reports. Nevertheless, experts advise that classic cars should be insured because of their inherent value which may be lost if a mishap occurs and a coverage is not in place.
Insuring muscle cars need not be a headache—here are a few tips:
· Do some research first; look around for the best deals before settling on a brand. Not all providers cover muscle cars, which make prices more exorbitant; however, there are still those which charge slightly lower than the others. advised to get several quotes from different companies then compare them with each other.
· Insurance for classic cars in the US costs around $600 per year, while in Ireland the typical rate is €175 ($239). To make premiums more affordable, Aviva suggested taking advantage of discounts—a mileage discount is usually in place for classic cars, and the typical threshold is 7,500 miles. Mileage lower than this will get the car owner a discount.
· According to , coordinating with your current insurance company is also advisable. Reasonable rates for muscle car insurance may be offered if the owner has a good track record with minimal claims in the past. If another insurance provider is preferred, make sure that a reputable company is chosen—inquire if it’s covered by the guaranty fund of the state, and also if it’s licensed.

You sure know the 1969 1/2 Super Bee and the Plymouth Road Runner, equipped with the 440 Six Pack. These were the first production cars to feature an all-fiberglass, lift-off hood. “The Six Pack 440 was introduced as a midyear option, and with it came the mandatory addition of the Super Track Pack and its 4.10:1 gears in the Dana 60 rear, either the A-727 automatic or 833 manual transmission, and no wheel covers on the black-painted (regardless of body color) steel wheels with chrome lug nuts. Models ordered as such are commonly referred to as “A12” cars, for the option code, and are a rare find, with only 1,907 Super Bees (and 1,412 Road Runners) built, 29 of which were exported to Canada (and 21 Road Runners).
